History.
2011
2011
Josh Genderson and his DC family business expands into cannabis.
Josh, while helping substantially expand the family wine business, was front row to emerging cannabis legislation on Capitol Hill.
2012
2012
Winning the first cannabis license.
After Josh and his family won the grower/processor license they applied for in D.C., the team traveled to Colorado, California, Canada and the Netherlands, meeting growers and processors to learn best practices not yet available on the east coast. From the start, the company was committed to be the best at medical programs, licensing and regulation, and of course, growing quality cannabis.
2013
2013
Bringing CBD to DC.
Parents of kids with intractable epilepsy had to smuggle high-CBD strains of medical cannabis back to D.C. as it was the only treatment that treated seizures. After meeting Jackson, one of the kids affected, and seeing first hand how the medicine helped him, Josh and the team began to grow and process medical cannabis for these kids in D.C.

2017
Expanding to an East Coast Powerhouse.
Holistic was awarded valuable, coveted and competitive licenses in Maryland, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania. Although Holistic is a cannabis company, people started referring to Holistic as a multi-state operator (MSO). California and Michigan were to be the next up in the national expansion of Holistic Industries.
2019
2019
Rolling it all up.
Holistic Industries expanded its leadership team from executives inside and outside of cannabis to help lead the company’s rapid growth and face a new level of industry sophistication and competition. Holistic formally integrated its states, brands, stores, cultivation and processing facilities and all other assets into a single investable entity, Holistic Industries.

2021
Important new additions and changes.
The cannabis industry, consistently fast growing and capital intensive, hit a series of challenges including oversupply, price compression and difficultly attracting new investment to the space. Holistic chose to strategically walk away from certain states and stores and also acquired Arbor Pacific, with Oregon and Washington operations. The company learned a scrappier, more competitive approach, with high quality products that cannabis consumers want at its core.
